In the Miracle Mile area...

MOPLA (Month of Photography LA) kicks off with it's annual show at the Loft at Liz's.

The Loft at LMOPLA 2014 Logoiz's holds an opening reception for One Shot: One World." The group show features the work of Clayton Campbell, Mike Saijo, Mei Xian Qiu, Phil Tarley, Ben von Mahler and Jeff Frost (Projects Room).

The annual photographic exhibition adopts its title and theme from the IPA (Int'l Photography Awards) competition. Each year the Loft at Liz's features MOPLA by exhibiting the top IPA photographs and a curated selection of top artists exhibiting thematically associated works.

Professional, emerging and student photographers were invited to submit a single photograph that shares a unique perspective on cultural environment with a focus on people, physical surroundings or objects. Competitors vied for $2250 in cash prizes and the opportunity to exhibit their work during the Month of Photography Los Angeles (MOPLA). Jurors included Amy Wolff (Photo Editor, PDN), Damien Poulain (Founder, Oodee) and Robert Berman (Robert Berman Gallery).

The Palos Verdes Art Center/Beverly G. Alpay Center for Arts Education presents Betty Gold: Color Blocking, an exhibition highlighting the international sculptor's 50 year career, curated by Joe Baker.

A series of scale maquettes of her larger sculptural work are to be exhibited alongside her print portfolio Holistic.
