Founded by journalist, and "Blues Mama" Kathy Leonardo (a longtime performer), the campy site has an unusual slant which will keep you entertained. Leonardo has been writing for the past 15 years about various subjects for the Huffington Post, THRIVE GLOBAL, LA Weekly, etc.

Each month the LAArtParty staff, led by Kathy Leonardo decides which events will be featured. Today is Martin Luther King Day...A wonderful day to give back to our community.

Celebrate the art of Ed Moses AND the grand opening of Hal's Playa Vista and LIFT SPACE tonight. Presented in partnership with the William Turner Gallery, the exhibition will feature new works by Ed Moses as well as a permanent installation of 5 screens in Hal's Restaurant. As a participating gallery in the region-wide Getty Foundation endeavor, Pacific Standard Time: LA/LA, Jack Rutberg Fine Arts will present two exhibitions. "Rico Lebrun in Mexico" and "Francisco Zuniga: Sculpture & Drawings."
"Rico Lebrun in Mexico," focuses attention on the period when the renowned artist moved to San Miguel de Allende in 1952 to teach art at the Instituto Allende. There a new generation of Mexican artists was introduced to and inspired by Rico Lebrun, who distinguished himself not only as a painter and compelling draftsman, but also as a formidable muralist. Francisco Zuniga: Sculpture & Drawings" brings together selected works on paper and an exceptional breadth of sculpture in bronze, wood and stone, which masterfully portray Zuniga's indigenous women as an elemental force. In Long Beach...VICA will host a special RSVP-Only Evening Tour of "Art in Place." for Los Angeles Art Association on Wednesday, January 24 from 7:30-8:30pm.
